Report: Man says he has candy, tries to lure child into vehicle in Boise

BOISE - Police are investigating a possible attempted child enticement after they received a report of a man trying to use candy as a ploy to lure a child into his vehicle.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 28th and Heron streets.

It was reported that a tan-colored minivan approached a child walking on the sidewalk. The man driving it offered the child a ride, indicating that there was candy in the vehicle. The child said "no" and ran home.

Officers checked the area but couldn't find the minivan.

The man is described as having short dark hair, slight facial hair and tattoos on both arms. He had a nose ring and was wearing a black leather vest.
