Canyon County honors woman for decades of volunteer work

Woman honored for 30 years of volunteer work.

CALDWELL - Canyon County honored a woman who is making a difference in the lives of others - and has been doing that for 30 years.

Eighty-seven-year-old Claire Roper was honored for her three decades of service with the Canyon County Board of Community Guardians Thursday afternoon.

The organization helps provide legal guardianship for adults in Canyon County who have diminished capacity and have no friends or family to help.

Claire was very humble about accepting her award.

"You don't do it for recognition, you just do it because it's for the betterment of the individuals," she said.
