EPSNU announcers recently went on live air (approx 1:41pm ) during coverage of the Boise State/Idaho game stating that coverage of the game was on hold due to a ‘complete power failure at the facility’. This is not true.
Idaho Power confirmed with its Capital Dispatch center that there was NO power outages in the city of Boise at the time of coverage delay. We also confirmed that there was another media outlet operating out of the same facility as EPSN on stadium premise and they experienced no power issues.
As of 4:10 pm, Idaho Power confirmed with a Boise State University source that the stadium power outage was caused by an onsite electrician who triggered a main breaker within the stadium complex. There was no interruption in power delivery to Boise State University by Idaho Power. The outage was caused within the stadium.
