BOISE -- Police are calling it a crime of opportunity.

A Boise woman was using the ATM at the Bank of America on Federal Way in Boise, when a man approached her carrying a gun.

It happened at around 9 p.m. Monday.

While the man approached the victim's car, another suspected waited nearby in a get-a-way vehicle.

Boise Police spokesperson Lynn Hightower saod the victim didn't notice anyone around when she initially pulled up to the ATM, when suddenly a vehicle pulled up in the lane next to ther.

"She did noticed as she was going through her financial transaction there, that someone pulled up in the lane to her left but didn't pull all the way up to the ATM, almost as if the suspects were watching her and waiting for her to get finished," said Hightower.

That's when police say one of the suspects, armed with the gun, approached the car and demanded money, however he did not get away wtih any cash.

The suspect is around 6-foot tall with a lanky build.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a ski mask.

The get-a-way car is believed to be dark green or blue.

Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
