COEUR D'ALENE -- The Coeur d'Alene School District in northern Idaho is mourning the deaths of two popular music teachers who held lengthy careers in the classroom.
Lake City High School officials said their choir director for the past decade, 39-year-old Lacie Hedahl, died unexpectedly on Sunday.
Principal John Brumley says Hedahl died from what appears to be natural causes.
Retired teacher Julie Johnson also died on Sunday after battling cancer for more than a year.
Johnson taught music in the Coeur d'Alene School District for 23 years, most recently at Fernan Elementary School.
