SANDPOINT -- Three Bonner County residents are charged in the death of a 19-year-old north Idaho man who was reported missing on Sept. 15 and whose body was recently found in a shallow grave.

The defendants already were jailed on charges stemming from a pawn shop burglary when they became suspects in the death of Michael Wyatt Smith.

Austin Blake Thrasher, who is 19, is charged with first-degree murder. Thrasher's wife, 22-year-old Jennifer Dunnagan Thrasher, and 19-year-old Christopher Garlin are charged with accessory to murder.

The sheriff's office says detectives received a tip early last month that a man was picked up near Hope "on the pretense of attending a party," and was driven to the woods, shot twice and buried. Detectives found Smith's body on private property north of Hope.
