BOISE -- The Treasure Valley community reached into its closests last month to make sure homeless men, women and children had warm shoes this winter.
It was all apart of the "Walk A Mile in Their Shoes" shoe drive, and Monday we saw the generosity of our community lined up around the blue turf at Bronco Stadium.
Volunteers worked all morning to put close to 3,000 pairs of shoes toe-to-heal on the blue.
"This is more than what I expected. It was the goal of course to reach a miles worth of shoes, and we did, we went over that just a little bit," said David Shippy, Rosendahl Foot and Shoe Center.
Organizers gave a special thanks to Purple Sage Elementary in Middleton that donated 870 pairs of shoes. Their shoe drive there was orgnized by Owen and Cameron Shippy.
The drive was organized by the Rosendahl Foot and Shoe Center for the Boise Rescue Mission.
