WOOD RIVER VALLEY -- About 15-thousand customers are without power in the Wood River Valley area this Christmas Day.

Many people have been calling KTVB, reporting they have been without power for most of the night.

Idaho Power crews are on site and more are on the way to help restore power.

Originally, about 17-thousand customers were left in the dark-- but emergency crews have been able to restore power to some in the Hailey area.

Idaho Power have identified that a section of power line that was down seems to be the cause of the mass outage.

Currently, people in the areas of Shoshone, Hailey, Ketchum, Sun Valley, Bellevue and Fairfield are affected.
