BOISE -- The Ada County coroner has released the identity of a man killed in a crash on Chinden Boulevard Monday afternoon.

The victim is Gregory Yearsley, 32, of Meridian.  Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg lists the cause of death as blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle accident.  A family friend tells us he was the father of five.

The accident happened on Chinden Boulevard just west of Eagle Road just before 3 p.m. Monday.

Police say the driver of a Dodge Stratus was pulling out of the Bristol Heights subdivision and attempting to make a left turn on to Chinden Boulevard, when it was hit broadside by a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer.

Yearsley was pronounced dead at the scene.  A male passenger in the Stratus was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.  The driver of the pickup suffered no physical injuries.

Police are asking anyone in the area who may have seen the crash to contact them at 343-COPS.

The road was blocked for more than two hours.  The accident remains under investigation.

A fund to help the family has been set up at local Key Bank branches.
