NAMPA -- The Sam’s Club in Nampa will be closing its doors on Jan. 22.
Company officials today announced to its 132 associates that the store would be closing.
"Over the years, we have worked to improve this club's financial performance," said Paul Stone, regional general manager and vice president, Operations at Sam's Club. "Despite our efforts, the club continued to lose money and we have decided to close it."
The Nampa Sam's Club opened in 2006 and the current 132 full-time and part-time associates will receive 60 days of pay. In addition, those that are eligible will receive accrued vacation pay and severance pay. A job fair will be held next week so impacted associates can learn about potential openings in Walmart or other Sam's Club locations.
Sam's Club Members are encouraged to shop online or at Walmart on Franklin Road Sam's Club will offer full refunds to members who request it. Representatives will be on site to answer any questions or provide refunds.
The pharmacy at the Nampa Sam's Club will close Jan. 25.
Walmart operates 20 stores, clubs and distribution centers in the state of Idaho, including 1 Sam's Club location. The company employs more than 6,800 associates in the state. The closest Sam’s Club is Idaho Falls.
