NAMPA -- Thousands of reptiles from all over the world were in Nampa Saturday for something Idaho has never seen before.

The Repticon event had reptiles of every kind, from ones you just have to see for yourself to one you might want to keep at a distance. But that didn't stop kids of all ages from touching and wrapping snakes and other reptiles around themselves.

"We've got a gentleman here with large snakes," said Skip Peel of Repticon. "If you like tarantulas and scorpions there's a lot of those, lizards, a few turtles and tortoises, so we kind of run the whole scheme of animals here."

In addition to showing off the animals, there were educational opportunities for those who wanted to buy a pet to take home.

If you weren't able to make it out Saturday, the show continues Sunday at the Nampa Civic Center from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
