BOISE – Some new hairstyles were in order for members of the Boise Police Department and the Ada County Sheriff's Office after they got together for a good cause.
Officers and deputies shaved their heads as part of the St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser to raise money for childhood cancer,
Across the country, St. Baldrick's motto is “shaving the way to conquer kids' cancer.”
Law enforcement weren't the only ones shedding their hair, both men and women and even kids got a new 'do.
“The crowd loves it, the kids with cancer love it,” said Boise Police Officer James Adams. “They know that we support them and all we do is try to give every little ounce of support we can and pray for them every day."
The Foundation says it funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
The Boise Police Department raised over $7,000 for the event by themselves, doubling what they did last year.
