GARDEN CITY -- Christmas came early for some folks in Ada County Sunday.
The Garden City Police Department and Ada County Fire teamed up to hand out presents to those in need.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and their helpers loaded up on an old-timey fire truck to hand-deliver the gifts to children and their families.
Those who gave and those who received said Sunday's event was heartwarming.
“It makes me feel happy because we're delivering stuff to people who don't have enough money,” said Logan Rebolz, who acted as one of Santa’s helpers. “So, I think it's really nice to do that.”
“I feel great right now,” said Tina Laird, who received one of the visits. “The Garden City Police Department that put all of this together are the most wonderful people. There are so many families out there and I know that we’re only one of several, probably tons, that needed help right now, especially for the small kids. And it means so much to them and to me.”
Santa and his helper dropped off presents to 10 homes.
