SUN VALLEY -- One of the world's most famous cross-country ski teams is using Sun Valley as a training ground for its final week of training before the Olympic games.
The Norwegian Olympic Nordic team arrived in Sun Valley on Thursday and found the conditions to be so good at the Nordic Center that they will forgo next week's World Cup stop to train right here in Idaho.
"This is optimal for us because we choose Sun Valley because of the conditions,” said Steinar Mundal, the Norwegian Men’s coach.
The Norwegian team is one of the world's oldest and most elite ski teams, with its top athletes earning as much as a $1 million per year. They are the superstars of the country and their coach told KTVB that Idaho was a perfect place to "get away" from the hype to train for the Olympics.
