BOISE -- One of the largest public charter schools in the state has drafted a plan to fix several problem areas identified by Idaho officials last month.
Idaho's Public Charter School Commission sent Nampa Classical Academy a notice of defect -- the first step in a lengthy process that could result in closure -- on Nov. 12.
The commission identified seven areas of noncompliance with state rules for charter schools, such as employing teachers without proper certification.
The academy sent the commission a plan to correct the missteps on Monday, detailing the actions they had taken and would take in the future.
The plan did not address a separate reprimand the commission sent the academy on Nov. 23, condemning the planned use of religious texts in the classroom. That response is due later this month.
