BOISE -- Four people were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a head-on crash on State Street and Hertford Way, just east of Glenwood Street.
Boise Police says after a preliminary investigation they believe the driver of a white Jaguar, who was eastbound on State Street, turned left into the path of the westbound black Jeep. No citations have been issued, but the investigation is ongoing.
Police say there was a driver and two children in the Jeep, and a driver in the Jaguar. One child was about 8-years old and the other was an infant in a child restraint seat. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. It took about 40 minutes remove the man from the Jaguar.
All of the occupants of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with what police say appear to be non life-threatening injuries. We are told the driver of the Jeep, the child's father, had a broken leg, while the driver of the Jaguar, a Boise man in his late 20s, had injuries described as extensive and serious.
A Boise Police spokesman told us Wednesday morning that the driver of the Jeep was still hospitalized, while the driver of the Jaguar is no longer in the hospital.
The crash happened around 4:19 p.m.
Traffic in the area was diverted off State State and into local shopping centers. State Street was cleared and reopened to traffic in both directions by 5:45 p.m.
