BOISE – An Idaho City man accused of stabbing a man to death outside a Boise bikini bar will stand trial for murder.
Fourth District Judge Deborah Bail ruled Monday there is enough evidence against Tariq McWilliams, 31, for the case to move forward. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Boise man.
Boise Police responded to the call at the Torch Lounge on West Main Street just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 24, 2009.
Paramedics transported the victim, Jason Tipton, 30, of Boise, to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The coroner said Tipton was stabbed in the chest.
Witnesses said several men, including the victim and suspect, got into a fight in the parking lot just before Tipton was stabbed.
Boise Police stopped a vehicle being driven by McWilliams a short time later on the outbound Connector and arrested him.
Prosecutors says McWilliams is scheduled to enter a plea before Judge Bail on Nov. 30.
