Body of missing fishing guide found 30 miles down river

IDAHO FALLS -- Bonneville County searchers have found the body of an angler who disappeared Wednesday night.

The body was found 30 miles downstream from where his drift boat tipped over. The body was located shortly after noon Friday.

Forty-nine-year-old Robert Merrill of Victor was in a drift boat with two clients when the boat tipped over. The clients were able to get to shore without much injury.

Rescue teams started looking for Merrill Wednesday night but had to stop because of darkness.

All three riders on the boat were not wearing life their jackets.

The dam has been blocked up stream at the Palisade Reservoir to reduce the water level.
