CALDWELL -- Caldwell Police went on the chase Tuesday morning searching for a man who escaped them not once but twice. One of those escape attempts was out of the back of their police car.
Police say they tried to take 33-year-old Aaron Egusquiza into custody for two outstanding arrest warrants when he took off.
Egusquiza fled on foot from a home on Friar Drive around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday according to Caldwell Police. Officers chased him, found him behind a shed on Lancelot Court, and took him into custody.
After police had gone back to his home for further investigation, Egusquiza slid though the window of the patrol car's center divider, got out of the car through the front passenger door, and took off again.
It wasn't until 4:00 p.m., when police were tipped off that he was hiding underneath another trailer near his home.
Police say when they got him the second time, the handcuffs appeared to have been cut off with someone's assistance.
Egusquiza was taken to West Valley Medical for medical treatment and then booked into the Canyon County Jail.
The investigation is continuing on whoever provided Egusquiza aid during his escape and more arrests are likely.
