BOISE -- The man accused of beating and killing 8-year-old Robert Manwill wants a new layer.
Daniel Ehrlick Jr. was arrested last year and charged with first-degree murder. His arrest came after thousands of people helped look for the missing boy.
Ehrlick filed a motion last Thursday saying he feels his attorneys are "badgering" him.
The public defender's office would not comment on the case.
According to court documents filed by Ehrlick, he want the public defender disqualified from the case.
Ehrlick claims the public defender's office has failed to file motions on his behalf, is badgering him and communication has been extremely difficult between him and his attorneys.
Ehrlick wrote, "public defenders have lied, and misguided me and my case."
Assistant deputy prosecutor Jan Bennetts would not go on camera but said, "it doesn't affect the way we handle the case. We will proceed with the case and handle it in an appropriate fashion, regardless of who is working on the defense."
We did talk with Robert Manwill's aunt Trish Burrill. She says they are anxiously waiting for the trial to start.
Ehrlick's trial is set to start in October. Jury selection will begin in September.
The trial for the Robert Manwill's mother Melissa Jenkins is set to start in November.
Both Jenkins and Ehrlick are charged with first-degree murder.
