McCALL -- A Moscow couple was killed when a car and bus collided on Highway 55 about three miles north of McCall this morning. The highway was closed for about three hours while emergency crews responded to the scene.
Idaho State Police investigated the crash that happened at 10:55 a.m. at the turn to the Little Ski Hill.
Investigators say Carol Martin, 67, of Moscow, was northbound in a 2007 Chevy Cobalt when she drifted into the southbound lanes and was struck head-on by a 2009 Ford Bus driven by Jeanette Dames, 57, of Pollock, Idaho.
Carol Martin died from her injuries at the scene.
Her husband, Don Martin, 75, was flown to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where he later died.
Police say the driver of the bus was not injured and there were no others on board.
Traffic along Idaho 55 was blocked between Meadows Road and Long View Road and motorists were detoured. The highway reopened around 2 p.m.
