BOISE -- The Idaho family of a soldier shot at Fort Hood says he is now out of intensive care, recovering from six gunshot wounds.
Staff Sergeant Shawn Manning now lives in Washington state, but graduated from Buhl High School.
He was shot once in the chest, leg and foot -- and three times in the abdomen.
Doctors were able to remove all but one of the bullets.
The gunshots missed his major organs and arteries, and the bullet still lodged in Manning's body does not appear to be life-threatening.
Manning is now in stable condition at a hospital in Texas.
We're told he was even able to stand and walk a short distance.
