BOSIE -- Three members of an Idaho methamphetamine trafficking ring that brought pounds of the illegal stimulant to Idaho from across the Nevada border are headed to federal prison.

Ricardo Mercado of Homedale will spend more than 15 years behind bars, Ruben Mora will spend 10 years in federal prison and Lorri Ann Chavez is headed to prison for 6 1/2 years.

U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson in Boise said Thursday the drug ring distributed methamphetamine throughout Canyon County to members of the Nortenos, a gang that's spread in recent years from its northern California roots to territory that includes Idaho.

Chavez was ordered to forfeit $25,000 and Mercado $5,000 in cash.

Mercado, who had a gun with him when police arrested him, sold and stored methamphetamine and collected debts for the ring.
