BOISE -- A Boise man is will soon be moving into his new house made with straw.

Workers spent Thursday covering the outside of the home with adobe.

"It makes sense.  It makes sense environmentally.  It makes sense economically.  It makes sense for a lot of reasons, said Mark Lung.

This isn't something new for Mark Lung.  He had a straw-insulated home when he lived in Colorado.

"This may be one really cool alternative to weatherize or build homes for low-income people because this home as it's built will pretty much have no heating or cooling energy bills," said Lung.

Lung said the only maintenance needed is a lyme wash on the outside of the home every five to ten years.
