BOISE – State Highway 21 between Banner Summit and Grandjean Junction reopened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Idaho Department of Transportation closed the road due to avalanche conditions in the area.

During the two-day closure, more than 25 avalanches were observed, at least 11 of which hit the roadway.

Explosives released two more slides which hit the roadway and were cleared away. The deepest accumulation of snow on the roadway was about 10 feet deep.
