BOISE -- If you got a new computer for Christmas and wonder what to do with your old one - here's an answer.

Computers for Kids and the University of Phoenix are now holding a computer drive.

Computers for Kids is a program that collects donated computers, fixes them up, then provides them to local children who otherwise wouldn't have their own computers.

“They need to be kindergarten through the second year of college can receive a computer, or any non-profit organization can receive a computer from us, but the students have to write an essay about why they would like to have a computer," said Tammy Gardner
director, Computers for Kids.

Gardner says even if your old computer doesn't run, they can still use the parts -- or at least recycle them.

You can drop off your donation at the University of Phoenix near St. Luke's Meridian or at Computers for Kids, just off Victory Road at Featherly Way.
