BOISE -- A local Girl Scout troop has set up a memorial fund for a 9-year-old Boise girl that was killed in a car accident on Interstate 84 on the day before Thanksgiving.
A public viewing for Kamila Palomero will be held at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
Kamila was a student at Amity Elementary School and a member of Girl Scout Troop 574.
She died after being ejected from her grandparents' mini-van on Nov. 25. The family was headed from Boise to Salt Lake City for Thanksgiving when a tire blew out on I-84 east of Mountain Home. Police says Kamila and her 10-year-old brother were watching a DVD and had taken off their seat belts. The boy survived, but was hospitalized.
A fund has been set up at Idaho Central Credit Union to help the family with funeral costs.
Kamila's funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cloverdale Funeral Home.
