BOISE -- Police in Spokane, Washington have arrested an inmate who walked away from the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center Sunday.
Pocatello Police say they got a tip that Kelly Norton was in the Spokane area, which is where her husband lives. They called Spokane officers who went to investigate. Officers in Spokane spotted Norton on the street and started to move in. Norton tried to run but she was arrested before getting away.
Idaho Department of Correction officials say Norton was discovered missing Sunday evening. Norton was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison for second-degree murder in Washington County in 1994.
Norton had been in work release since October and was eligible to be considered for parole in August. She will now likely face an escape charge, which carries a possible five-sentence.
