BOISE -- Meridian Police say a teenage driver involved in a multi-car accident on Eagle Road Tuesday afternoon has died of her injuries.

The accident happened around 4:50 p.m. on Eagle Road and River Valley.  That's between Fairview Avenue and Ustick Road.

Police say an 18-year-old woman was driving north on Eagle Road when her Ford Mustang veered into the southbound lane and hit a 3/4 ton Chevy pickup truck.  The Mustang then spun around and was hit in the rear right side quarter panel by a Mazda 4-door passenger car. A Honda Civic then hit the Mustang in the driver side door.  The driver of the Mustang was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Ada County coroner has identified the victim as Kassandra Kerfoot, 18, of Meridian.  She died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The southbound lanes were closed for several hours.  Eagle Road was reopened just before 10 p.m.

Meridian Police would like anyone who may have witnessed this accident to please contact Officer Wayne Fuchs at 888-6678.
