BOISE -- Blake Hall, an eastern Idaho lawyer and veteran activist in the state and national Republican Party, has stepped down from his role on the national committee.
Idaho Republican Party Chairman Norm Semanko announced Hall's resignation Monday.
The announcement follows Hall's decision to plead guilty to misdemeanor stalking in 7th District Court in Idaho Falls Friday.
He was sentenced to six months in jail with all but 15 days suspended, one year probation and a $1,000 fine. He began serving his sentence Saturday.
Hall is a former state GOP chairman, and in April he stepped down from the state Board of Education. He also runs a private law practice. He was also terminated Monday as attorney in the civil division of the Bonneville County Attorney's office.
Semanko says Hall's successor will be picked by the Republican State Central Committee.
