CALDWELL – Idaho State Police are investigating a crash on Interstate 84 early Wednesday that involved semi trucks.

The accident happened at 4:30 a.m. just west of Caldwell.

Troopers says 29-year-old Westley Bullock of Pocatello was westbound on I-84 in a semi with two trailers hauling coal when, for unknown reasons, he drove off the right side of the road near mile post 29.  The semi struck the guardrail before coming to rest in a ditch.

Another truck driver, 63-year-old Leland Everhart of Payette, was behind Bullock in a semi hauling Coca Cola products. He ran over the guardrail debris, causing damage to a tire and puncturing his fuel tank.  He pulled over and diesel leaked onto the right shoulder.

The Caldwell Fire Department responded and crews were able to contain the diesel fuel leak.  The right lane of I-84 was blocked for about three hours.  Traffic is flowing normally again in the area.

Police say all occupants were wearing seatbelts.  And neither weather, alcohol or drugs were a factor in this crash.
