BOISE -- The Ada County Highway District is making special preparations for two major traffic events happening Friday -- "Black Friday" shopping and the Boise State-Nevada football game.
ACHD is adjusting traffic signal timing so the lights favor shoppers entering Boise Towne Square Friday morning, and to get people from the Connector on to Franklin Road.
The intersection of Milwaukee and Emerald streets is typically one of the most congested areas on the day after Thanksgiving.
Friday night, drivers can expect congestion around Boise State University because of the game scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
ACHD will adjust signal times at 32 intersections around campus -- including Broadway Avenue at University Drive.
A signal timing engineer will watch traffic conditions and make more adjustments as needed.
