Christopher T. Lawler, M.D. was born in Western Massachusetts staying east to receive his education. He attended Springfield College, the University of Vermont Medical School and completed an internship at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts.
Dr. Lawler completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Michigan State University. While at Michigan State University, he volunteered extensively with the athletic sports medicine program and had the opportunity to work with the collegiate ice hockey and gymnastics teams.
He furthered his training by completing a fellowship in sports medicine here in Boise, Idaho where he worked with the athletic teams at Boise State University.
Dr. Lawler has been with B.O.C. since 2005 and has participated as a team physician for the Idaho Steelheads, Idaho Stampede and most recently the new arena football team, The Boise Burn.
He specializes in the area of non-operative musculoskeletal injuries and fractures in both adults and children.
Given Dr. Lawler’s diverse background in sports medicine, he also treats athletes with non-orthopedic conditions such as concussions, soft tissue injuries and skin disorders as well as other sports related conditions.
Dr. Lawler was a former collegiate athlete who remains active on his hours off enjoying hockey, downhill skiing and outdoor recreation including fishing and hunting. He lives in Boise with his wife, Melanie and their two young daughters.
