Dr. Simon was born and raised in Boise. She married, had a son, and then due to a tragic accident she was widowed. Dr. Simon looked to her family to regroup and enrolled in Boise State University. She received a fabulous education where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Nursing Degree and met her mentor Dr. Russell Centanni, who encouraged her to further her education.
Dr. Simon then went to the U.C. Berkeley where she moved with her son, Adam, and earned her Masters in Public Health while working as an AIDS consultant under Dr. Donald Francis, former director of CDC’s AIDS Laboratory Activities and Center for Disease AIDS Advisor for the state of California. During that time Dr. Simon discovered her true passion for helping people and wanted once more to further her education and become an M.D. She applied to the University of Eastern Virginia Medical School where she was accepted and earned her Medical Degree.
Dr. Simon specializes in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement. “Everything is linked to your hormones. From mental health to skin care, if you start hormone replacement at an early enough age you can significantly reduce the symptoms of menopause and not to mention age slower, which is a beautiful thing,” says Dr. Simon.
