One Stone,- Key to extraordinary change

Soroptimist of Boise recognizes Kylie Poppen as the club 2009-2010 Violet Richardson Community Service Award winner.

Soroptimist International of Boise recognizes Kylie Poppen as the club 2009-2010 Violet Richardson Community Service Award winner. This award recognizes young women between 14-17 who make a difference through volunteer efforts. Kylie volunteers for “One Stone Inc.,” a unique organization developed, managed, and led by high school students. The students selects meaningful projects with distinct learning components, character & skills development, community interaction and commitment to lifelong service. She received special recognition at the May Awards Banquet.
it starts with one...all it takes is one stone thrown into a river to alter its course. In the same way, every act of service builds upon another to create extraordinary change. In the past two years One Stone has grown from a single school-based program to a community-wide organization involving students from 13 Treasure Valley hight schools. Kylie said that One Stone emphasizes the power of one, and through er experiences, she has discovered that her community of "ones" has forever altered the course of er life. She will be attending Stanford University this fall and is looking forward to new service opportunities.
