While I was taking pictures near the roadside memorial for Shauna Hill, a semi truck heading south on SH 16 was slowing to turn right onto Floating Feather. An impatient driver cut out of the line, and illegally passed all the cars and two semi trucks using the center left turn lane at a full 65 MPH (or faster). I snapped this photo with my cell phone. This shows the need to widen Idaho Highway 16 to 5 lanes, just like SH 69 to Kuna is now, so that people can pass slow vehicles safely. Until then, we need increased police presence to enfore the current laws. I feel that the high speed limit isn't a problem along this stretch of highway, but impatient drivers who don't care for the law, and lack of safe right turn lanes.
