My neighbor's cat had been missing for two days. He kept hearing meow, but couldn't tell where it was coming from. A friend of mine (another neighbor) and I randomly saw what we thought was a large squirrel at the top of the pole. Upon closer inspection, we discovered that it was his cat. We contacted the neighbor and he said that it would probably come down when it got hungry enough. We tried goading it down for two more days, but nothing would work. I finally posted a photo of the cat perched at the top of the pole on Idaho Power's Facebook page. I got a response almost immediately. Very shortly thereafter, an Idaho Power lineman and two other employees came to the rescue. One man climbed up the pole and patiently called the cat to him. When he finally got her to go to him, he put her in a bag and lowered her back to the safety of the ground. It was very inspiring that they had the heart to help get this cat down and in a humane way. She was terrified, but is probably eating and drinking her fill! Thank you Idaho Power and all their employees for your valiant efforts!!
