Looking west from a location near Vista Drive and Morgan Avenue, east of Vale, Oregon between 12:04am and 12:41am, Tuesday, August 7, 2012. The line of fires, reportedly caused by lightning, run approximately southeast to northwest in these photos. The lights at the right side of the first photo (12:04am) are fire crews at the corner of Butte Drive and Highway 20/26 (Thunderegg Blvd). Non-local traffic heading south on Butte Drive from the Highway were asked to turn back at Butte Drive and Onion Avenue (or possibly Morgan Avenue). Light from the fires reflecting off the pillars of smoke could be seen from Ontario at least by 11:45pm Monday night but was barely visible by 1:00am Tuesday.
