Each year at our home, we have two mallard parents who nest in or near our yard. This year we gained their trust and made our presence more known to them who have used our pool cover ”resort” since February.
Rarely, do we get the chance to see the babies after they are born…today was one of those rare moments.
My son, Drew, noticed the babies in the pool with their mama. At first she swam away from me as I tried to take a picture. After standing still by the pool gate, I gained her trust and she brought them back into the pond. If one strayed out of the water, she gently quacked and the delinquent duckling returned to her side.
These are the special moments of life :).
