My name is Stephanie Santos and I am a Student at Boise State University. I have a five year old son named Cyrus Santos and he is the only other thing that I love just as much as singing. From a very young age there has been something deep inside of me letting me know that I was put on this earth to become a famous singer. I tried to walk away from this calling for a short time in my life but my heart and soul are always brought back to singing. In 2006, after my son was born, I moved to Glenns Ferry Idaho so that my son and I could be closer to my mother, who has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis since 2005. She spent her life taking care of my youngest brother who was diagnosed with autism when he was young, but when the disease started to become dibilitating, I knew i needed to be closer to her. I enrolled at the college of Sourthern Idaho and then transfered to Boise state University where I will receive my Bachelors of music in vocal performance. I can't imagine being anything else but a singer for my lifes work. The reason why I know that being a singer is my calling is because I recently found a recording of me singing at the age of one years old. My mother enrolled me in private vocal lessons at the young age of 8, and I have continued on this path ever since. At age 18 I placed third in the state of Washington for classical voice and at this point in my life I have been studying classical voice for 23 years, and have been singing soulful belt music for even longer. The first time I heard Mariah Careys VISION OF LOVE at the young age of seven I knew right then that being a famous singer was in the cards for me. Upon moving to Boise I auditioned and was accepted into the Opera company, Opera Idaho. I also was recently cast in two leading roles, one as Laurey in Oklahoma and the other, as Kira in Xanadu for knock em' dead theatre of Boise. Although I enjoy singing Opera and Musical Theatre because of my extensive training, there is something about singing soulful music that lets me know that it is the direction I need to take my voice in. All my family and I have ever wanted is for me to be able to get the opportunity to sing for someone that could give me my big break. My family is so important to me and all I want is to be able to repay them for all the love and support that they have shown me throughout my singing career. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I promise that you will not be disappointed. If I am picked to get a VIP pass to the voice I guarentee that I will make it to the blind auditions and that not only will all four judges turn their chairs around, but they will also fight for me to join their team. Thank you again so much.
