I am a victim of fraud and wanted to report it to make the public aware that Fred Meyer Jeweler has probably done it not just me but to other customers. About 3 weeks ago, I in good faith bought a pair of 1 Ct. Princess cut Diamond earring set on 14kt white gold, for wich I paid $2,250.00 and included a Gemeological Science International report. Then for personal reasons I decided to return them. Yesterday, when I was returning them, the Store Manager permormed an inspection test on them and to my astonishment, he informed me they were not diamonds but "cubic zirconia" set on sterling silver. How is this possible?? What is interesting to me is that when I bought them they didn't perform the same test to guarantee me that I was getting in fact the real thing. So, now I really question what they sell to others who like me buy from them without crossing our minds the fact that they are commiting fraud with their merchandise. Now I know that if I never would have tried to return them then I alwasy would have thought that I had real diamonds.
