NEW YORK (AP) — Richard Bean's slapstick comedy "One Man, Two Guvnors" is leaping the Pond.

A hit in London's West End, the play will open at Broadway's Music Box Theatre on April 18, with preview performances to begin on April 6.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's company will be led by James Corden, who originated the part in England and was a star in "The History Boys."

Based on an 18th century Italian farce, the play has been updated to the swinging '60s in the south coast of England. It tells the story of a dim man who agrees to be the valet of two small-time crooks.

The play was recently broadcast into movie theaters as part of the National's NT LIVE series.
