Public Works is something we don’t normally give a lot of thought to but it involves things that need to be maintained.  Things like solid waste, waste treatment, and water treat are part of public works but it goes way beyond.  On Wednesday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm in front of Meridian City Hall you can learn more about public works and how other agencies are also involved.  Free hot dogs and popcorn will be available and everyone is welcome.  Saturday will be the “Poop Scoot” which is actually a race from 8th Street Park and finishes at the public works facility.  A tennis ball will be dropped into the sewer line and everyone will try to beat the tennis ball.  Registration is 2 cans of food for the Meridian food bank and starts at 8am with the race at 8:30am.
