Greg Ramey's Green Pork Chili

Greg Ramey's Green Pork Chili

Boise Fire Department, Boise, ID

1 pound ground pork

1 onion chopped

2 cloves of minced garlic

¼ cup flour

1 can each great northern beans, garbanzos and navy beans

7oz can mild green chilies diced

12oz bottle mild green taco sauce

4oz can diced jalapenos (adjust according to desired heat)

2 ½ - 3 cups chicken broth

2 teaspoons cumin

1 ½ Table spoons brown sugar

Salt & pepper to taste

1 level Table spoon creamy peanut butter

Brown meat and sauté onion & garlic with meat. Add flour to meat mixture and brown slightly; add beans (with juice). Blend 2 cups of chicken broth, chilies, jalapenos and taco sauce in a blender & then add to the pot. Then add all of remaining ingredients to pot. (Reserve ½ - 1 cup chicken broth to add as needed to thin mixture to desired consistency).

Serving Suggestions:

Add sour cream

Chopped cilantro

Shredded Jack or Pepper Jack Cheese

Serve over corn bread or with tortilla chips
