1 cup sliced peeled apple
3 teaspoons butter, divided
½ cup sliced almonds
1 tablespoon honey
1 Pinch cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons cream cheese
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 slices raisin bread
2 slices Meunster Cheese
1. In a large skillet, sauté apple slices in 1 teaspoon butter until tender, about 2 minutes.
2. In another skillet, cook and stir the almonds with the honey & cayenne until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Stir in the almonds.
Spread over two slices of raisin bread.
Layer next with the apple slices, then the Muenster cheese, then the other 2 slices of bread.
Spread remaining butter over the outsides of both sandwiches.
4. In a large griddle or skillet, toast sandwiches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
