When do your kids plan to trick-or-treat?
Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, and many families here in the Treasure Valley are wondering when to trick-or-treat.
Saturday or Sunday?
Well, that depends on where you live. We talked with leaders in several Treasure Valley cities to find out.
In Boise, Halloween will be celebrated on Sunday - October 31st. Police patrols will be ramped up on Sunday night in high traffic areas with lots of trick-or-treaters, like Harrison Boulevard. If you would rather celebrate on Saturday with your kids, the city recommends "BOO AT THE ZOO" at Zoo Boise. It's on Saturday, October 30th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kids can wear their costumes, trick-or-treat and take part in all the fun at the zoo!
In Eagle, Nampa, Meridian and Caldwell - city leaders tell me they are leaving it up to each individual family to decide what's best. They tell us they don't want to dictate when families should celebrate Halloween. It's up to you! That goes for treat givers too. If you want to hand out treats, pick the night that works best for you.
In Wilder, the mayor says he has decided trick-or-treating will take place on Saturday.
Have a safe and Happy Halloween, no matter when you celebrate!
