This Saturday is the TVDSA 2011 Buddy Walk. It's the 11th year for this special event, and it promotes awareness and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome in our community. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a great cause, and to educate your own kids about how people with special needs are just like the rest of us!
I'm thrilled to be on Team Mirabel, celebrating a sweet little girl. She will be walking for the FIRST time this year, since she is now an accomplished walker. It was a challenge for her to learn to walk, but she did it!
The walk starts at Capitol Park in downtown Boise at 11 a.m. and proceeds up Capitol Boulevard to Julia Davis Park. That's when the party starts! There will be prizes, games, bounce houses and food for all. It's a great time.
It's not too late to sign up, you can register tomorrow at 9 a.m. - just look for the registration table. All proceeds go to education for new parents, classes, and scholarships. Click HERE for more information on how to register at the event.
