There is a big celebration in Meridian this weekend for the 4th of July!

Freedom Festival 2011

It all begins at Storey Park Friday, July 1st and goes right through Sunday the 3rd. There will be lots of local bands and entertainment acts, food booths, kids activities, a BBQ contest and so much more! There's also a fireworks show both Friday and Saturday nights. (The city of Meridian will also have a fireworks show Monday night, July 4th!)

Do you love french fries? I mean, REALLY love them? If so, you could be prime candidate for the World French Fry Eating Contest! It's on Saturday at 1pm. This is the first sanctioned competitive eating contest to ever be held in Idaho. All Pro Eating out of New York is hosting the event, and Boise Fry Company is sponsoring. (You know the fries will be delicious if that's the case!)

You'll have to bring your appetite, because the World's Greatest Potato Eater, Herman "Grizzly Tater" Tannenbaum will be there. There's $1,500 in prize money up for grabs.

There is still time to enter! Just call Ryan at 906-0399 to sign up.
