If you have family coming to town for Thanksgiving weekend, I have plans just for you! I'm sure you're looking for fun things to do with your guests, and there are three events happening this weekend that you just don't want to miss! They are guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
Click on the titles of the events for more information:
The Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees is now open at the Boise Centre, and it runs through Sunday. If you are ready for the Christmas season, this is the place for you! You'll see all the beautiful Christmas trees, and you can shop for holiday decorations and gifts too. Your kids even have the chance to get some one-on-one face time with Santa. Saturday is KTVB FAMILY DAY. Bring a new unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army, and you'll get a dollar off the price of admission.
How about a bowl of warm soup on a cold day? This Friday is the 14th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser on the Grove Plaza! All proceeds benefit the Idaho Foodbank. Delicious soup from local restaurants will be served from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. - but the soup goes fast, so make sure you get there early. For $10 dollars you get a handcrafted ceramic bowl full of soup!
Don't miss the lighting of Boise's Christmas tree! The annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration will be held on Saturday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., in the Grove Plaza. Boise City Mayor will flip the switch and light up the night! There will also be Christmas carols and a candle lighting ceremony. Take a Tag from the Holiday Giving Tree and take a stand to help the WCA.
