Yesterday, when I anchored the noon news - I had a LIVE studio audience! Or maybe, I should call it a LIVE "student" audience.

Teen Leadership Boise Academy was here at KTVB for the "total" news experience. They had the opportunity to watch the news in the studio, and go on a tour of the station to see how things work here.

The group includes 57 high school juniors from 16 area schools. The purpose of the 5 month long  Leadership Boise program is to help these teenagers understand our community, including the challenges and the potential that go right along with it. It's also a way to motivate and encourage these kids to assume leadership roles in the community. These teens also get the chance to meet and exchange ideas with current community leaders. Through monthly daylong sessions, the teens get a lesson on Boise, how it has developed and how it works.

This program is sponsored by the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce.

There is also an adult version of this program. To find out more about Leadership Boise or to apply for a spot.... check out this website:
